Observations from Web Developer of DisabilityQualification.com

Disclaimer: Do not interpret this as expert advice. The following are observations from a web developer in his mid-30s that has not yet applied for SSDI. Please think for yourself. These comments were written to provide a different perspective.

I’m a web developer in my thirties who studied SSDI and pre-qualified thousands of cases for Disability lawyers. fence about hiring an attorney. I’m in tech, but I’ve worked with SSDI for almost 10 years. This is the only place where I’m inserting my opinion. It’s up to you, but I am not uncertain that some people would benefit from hearing it at this juncture.

That being said, there is no shortage of people seeking SSDI benefits. I’m reaching out to people on this page because you are doing what I would have done. Whether it was fee avoidance or you simply enjoy DIY, you may want to consider hiring a disability lawyer for the following reasons:

Top 3 Reasons I Would Hire a Disability Attorney

  1. It’s easier and you are more likely to win (without delays)… it sounds simple, but you should read it again. If you are Denied at the Initial Application Level, you are looking at a 4-6 month delay on average. (“How to Write a Reconsideration Letter” is Googled thousands of times a month…. they should be Google “Disability Lawyer”)
  2. Fees are never paid out-of-pocket, deducted backpay, capped by the SSA, and totally worth it. That’s all I’m going to say, feel free to do your own research, but if you are on the fence because of the fee… the sooner you make the decision to hire attorney, the sooner you get approved,  the less you ultimately pay the attorney.
  3. Its a Legal Process, Treat It As Such. You should do everything in your power to get Approved at the Initial Application Phase. You are two steps away from defending your medical condition in Court in front of a judge (possibly Zoom Court, but the Courts are always backed up.)

If you don’t need the money and you don’t care if you are delayed, best of luck to you. Feel free to take advantage of the free SSDI Case Evaluation. If you are approved, the phone consultation with the SSDI Specialist can help answer questions before you apply.
